The Golden Tin Competition

Are You the Craftiest Bartender in all the Land?

Enter To Win

Get your shaker tins and mixing glasses ready, we're 'bout to throw down! The Hof will host 5 weeks of a local bartender tournament to decide once and for all who is the Richmond Area's craftiest bartender. Submissions will be accepted until 01/22 at which time the bracket will be announced. For the competitions themselves, the Sazerac Sixteen will be split up for the first two weeks 02/05 & 02/12, followed by the East India Eight on 02/19, the Fancy Four on 02/26, with the Golden Tin Championship taking place on 03/10. Each week, the competition will feature a Virginia product and bartenders will have access to a full bar and all sorts of fun equipment in order to create their cocktails.

The winner gets an engraved Golden Shaker Tin set, to be the featured bartender for The Doorways annual Savor event and a stage shift at Pegu Club in New York City*.

Golden Tin will take place annually. It is a fun and friendly competition consisting of local River City bartenders.
It spans five weeks, and brings out the best of the 16 competing bartenders while creating a bond and sense of community among local service industry members.
Portions of the proceeds go towards local non-profit, The Doorways. For more about The Doorways, visit their page here:

There is no admission for the four Monday night events, we just ask that you make a donation to support the Doorways. For the Grand Championship on Saturday 03/10, admission will be $55 and will include complimentary hors d'oeuvres, cocktail tastings, spirit flights, and the opportunity to watch our top two bartenders duke it out to see once and for all who is Richmond's craftiest bartender.

Don't spend much time behind a bar? Don't worry, there is still a way for you to win! We will have tournament brackets for you to fill out and the winner* will get a private event at the Cirrus Distillery, $100 gift certificate to the Hof Garden, and a craft cocktail kit!

*Transportation & lodging not included. Stage shift availability determined by the staff of Pegu Club.

**Bracket winner must be present for the championship match. In the event of a tie, the tiebreaker will be a short round of cocktail trivia.
